Celebrate an Evening with Cole Porter honors one of America’s greatest composers and song writers. Songs like Anything Goes, Night and Day, and I’ve Got You Under My Skin, will have you tapping your toes and swaying with delight!This enchanting 90-minute concert will be performed in three segments, encapsulating Cole Porter’s life, without intermission. Producer & Director, Derek M. Hamblin, has arranged an outstanding assemblage of local musicians, with Rich & Carlyn Zimmerman singing all your Cole Porter favorites!Special highlights throughout the evening will include a photo booth and more! Attendees are encouraged to dress in their most glamorous vintage attire, as worn during the height of Cole Porter’s life and career in the 1930s and 40s. WDBX’s own Jean Armstrong, on-air personality of the popular Saturday morning show, “Grandma’s Jazz”, will be your emcee for the evening, narrating Cole Porter musical selections with enchanting historical antidotes. All proceeds of this fundraising concert will benefit the Marion Cultural and Civic Center’s technical needs.“This is beginning to look like a charitable fundraiser unlike any other event Southern Illinois has ever seen, for such a worthy cause!
